It seems we’ve reached the middle of the calendar year….and now that you’ve handled your quarterly taxes, estimated tax payments, and filled all the required forms, it’s now time to focus on profitability again! The best way to know where you’re going is to have a solid MRP system in place that allows you not only to see where you’ve been but to forecast where you are going.
Another issue that you may be thinking about is the third quarter shipments that should be going out soon for holiday sales. If you sell to big box stores, this is a VERY important time for your manufacturing mrp system to get it right. Purchasing is of utmost importance at this point as well as your relationships with your vendors.
Many of our pc MRP users take a moment now to look back over their purchases of materials since the first of the year, compare them to purchases from last year, and try and plot a course as to where they think pricing is going to go for the next two quarters of the year.
